With a flash back to 1986 and with the passing on my full licence it was a natural progression to head straight to Rogersons Vespa dealership in Orrell near Wigan and with the help of my girlfriends mum to sign up on good old HP for a brand new PX200e. With £100 deposit and 36 monthly payments committed to the job was done with collection the next day in a classic Rosso Red paint job. Up early for a Saturday and at the dealership for 8am the scoot was ready and fuelled up and with the promise to come back after 700 miles for the first free service. “Take it easy during the running in period remember” Lol ok! With a short ride back home , time to grab a bag and head to Rhyl. Back home by 5pm after a great ride I decided to go back again , stop the night and then home on Sunday. First thing Monday and back to Rogersons for the service. On arrival I proudly announced I’m back for the first service! Come back when you’ve done 700 miles Mr service guy requested and Yeah I’m back I’ve done 730 miles actually. I clocked up 50,000 miles on the trusty Px over the next 2 years and missed only 2 national rallies in the 2 year period. Those were the days…
