South Vietnam Tour Road Test & Review – Scomadi TT 125cc
Review Time!
After a last minute decision to take the TT on our last Mekong Delta south Vietnam 2 week tour it was time to put the scoot through its paces on a proper road trip.
The new TTi 125cc continues the brand’s tradition of blending classic styling with modern engineering, and after a full road test it’s clear this model raises the bar for both performance in the 125cc class and its overall build quality.
Comfort & Ride Quality
From the moment you pull away, the TT125cc impresses with its remarkably comfortable ride. The ergonomics feel natural, with a relaxed seating position (Although the standard “Ancillotti” style sport seat was changed for one of our vintage style Guiliari seats for comfort) and well-placed controls that made this road trip an enjoyable ride. The 12-inch wheels provide a stable, confident feel on the road, giving the scooter excellent balance even over rough surfaces, and we had a lot during the tour, although the ride height for local riders would be better suited with a lower seat. That’s a playoff between ride height and comfort but since returning we’ve now made a lower version of the traditional style seat which is still a lot more comfortable over the factory version.
Suspension Performance
The upgraded suspension system is one of the standout features of this model on local roads. It absorbs bumps with ease, keeping the ride smooth and controlled. Cornering is predictable and responsive, and the scooter remains well balanced even when riding over uneven roads or tackling tighter bends.
Braking & Safety
Braking performance is fantastic. The combination of strong disc brakes and ABS is incomparably better especially if you’re a vintage scooter rider, delivering quick, controlled stopping power in all conditions even in some monsoon downpours. Whether navigating traffic or cruising at higher speeds, the braking system felt very reliable.
Lighting & Technology
Scomadi has equipped the TT125cc with updated modern LED lighting, offering improved visibility for the rider and increased presence on the road. The illumination is strong and clear, enhancing safety during night riding. For those used to the absence of street lights in most areas city / rural areas here this is a welcome improvement. The electric start adds to the convenience.
Final Verdict
The Scomadi TT125cc is a thoughtfully designed scooter that blends comfort, control and modern features into a vintage inspired package. With its smooth ride, excellent suspension, impressive braking performance and updated technology (We were also road testing the newest Elvt -1 ECU Upgrade) , it’s an ideal choice for any rider seeking quality, reliability and everyday practicality with that classic touch.
The on-the-road price is 110,000,000 VND. It’s a bit more than some of its Piaggio competitors, but you’re getting a completely different kind of scooter for your dong.
Also with the new 2025 licencing rules the motor capacity falls within the new “A” class for all new entry level licences up to the 125cc limit.
Footnote: We will now be adding a selection of Scomadi TT models to our tour fleet for guests who prefer the convenience of an automatic scooter.
